The Castles of the Great Assimil Unearthed
Ali Gorson-Marrow is an 18 year old published author/college student from outside Philadelphia. With her 21 year old co-author they wrote a book named "The Castles of the Great Assimil Unearthed". We have conducted an interview with her.
What inspires you the most from your novel "The Castles of the Great Assimil Unearthed"?
I was inspired to write The Castles of the Great Assimil Unearthed when I heard the heart breaking stories of young children in Africa.
Who is Assimil and what kind of character did he possess?
Assimil is a young 8 year old boy living in Burkina Faso. He possesses a relatable childish approach to situations while at the same time having to maintain a mature and calm demeanor.
Why is it important to craft your key character of your novel as such?
It is important for Assimil to be mature and immature because on one hand, he is only a young child but on the other hand, he is in a situation that forces one to be mature and strong.
What kind of foundation do you wish to established after your book is published?
The foundation we would love to establish after our book is published would be an organization that helps children in Africa afford a better education. In fact, we are taking the necessary steps towards that by partaking in a new organization called The Southern Africa Education Trust.
How do you plan to alleviate poverty issues in Africa? Which areas and what would you like to tackle first?
We plan to alleviate poverty issues in Africa by beginning with children. We hope that if we can provide African children with schooling, food and clothing we can help them reach success.
